Rage Against the X-Factor

Posted by jamie on Dec 6, 2009

We’re not in to rap-metal, but we at Bananatown are fully behind Rage Against the X-Factor.  It’s a campaign to take Rage Against the Machine to Christmas Number One, most likely at the expense of whichever of Simon Cowell’s puppets wins ITV’s ridiculously bland, yet still cringeworthily gruesome karaoke programme The X-Factor.

Last year, when Alexandra Burke topped the festive charts with Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah, the original was within touching distance of sneaking back to the top spot.

It’s not so much about whether you like the song, but a campaign to take a little bit of the limelight back for real music.  By buying Rage from 13th December you can make a stand against Cowell’s expanding cardboard empire of grinning gimps.

Download Killing in the name from 13th December (and not before).  Go here for more info if you’re on facebook.
