RUMBLE DOWN SOUTH 2011

Posted by jamie on May 3, 2011

We’ve been waiting on this for a while.  Now that their website’s up and the line-up is confirmed, we can officially  show you the Rumble Down South Festival 2011.

You can see the full line-up here, but highlights (in our point of view) include Lower Than Atlantis, Doctor 8Ball (fka Too Late Lucy), Funeral for a Friend and the Sonic Boom Six.  I also love Jett Black.

I’ve heard rumours (rumours, people), that we’ll also see the King Blues, but can’t confirm that for you yet.

Too Late Lucy: Reunion shows

Posted by jamie on Jan 31, 2011

Berkhamsted pop-punkers Too Late Lucy have decided that they missed each other and putting on their bombastic live shows.  You guessed it: they’re getting back together to play some shows in the spring and summer.

Full dates are still TBC, and, we’re told, talk of new material and any new recordings is just a rumour at this stage.  But there will be a set of live dates.   As soon as we know, you’ll know.  All I’m telling you here, though, is right from the horse’s mouth.  By horse, I mean Jimmy, and by mouth, I mean voicemail.  But hey, those were his words.

The line-up won’t be the original one, or the very last one with Alfie (fka Dan) on lead vocals.  It’ll actually be the one in this press photo: Ben, Alfie, Will, Graham, Jimmy and the lovely Trev.

Too Late Lucy - Official Statement

Posted by jamie on May 2, 2009

Ben and Tucks have left Too Late Lucy.  The full statement reads as follows:

After some tough times, Too Late Lucy have split from singer/guitarist Ben Champniss. Tucks, our drummer, has also departed to get ready for university.  He starts in September and we wish him well.

Too Late Lucy remain a six piece band:
Graham Howes - trumpet
Jimmy Oi - trombone
Will Hoult - guitar
Dan - lead vocals.

The two new additions are
Jamie  - (bass) and Jerome (drums).

The new line-up will play it’s first show on 11th July 09 on the main stage at Hemel Hempstead’s free “Music on the Moor” festival.  [ends]
Wow!  All go, eh?  Bananatown grabbed Jimmy (trombone) and tickled the following statement out of him:
“What we’re actually gonna be playing has to stay hush-hush, but I will say that I think fans of our old band, Dr. 8Ball, will be happier, and that the new show will be better, more wild and will bring back the skank to the audience! Better than we have ever done before, just watch out for the bass players tricks.”  That last bit came with a cheeky little wink.  Bless.

Too Late Lucy *rumours*

Rumour has it that Berko pop-punkers Too Late Lucy have split from their drummer, Tucks, and singer/guitarist Ben.  The band would still have Will on guitar and Dan as a vocalist, but be looking for a new drummer and, possibly a guitar or bass player.
